Jack's first day on a diving board!

Two years ago Jack wanted to jump off the diving board at the Murray pool, but I wouldn't let him. We haven't noticed a diving board since, until today. Jack was anxious to try so I let him. He loved it!!!

This was probably Jack's fifth or sixth jump. I was too nervous about him making it to the edge of the pool on his first jumps to even think about taking a picture. Even for these, I take a pic, quickly put the camera down, jump in the water and help him to the side.
This is what we call the "jump turn" when he is dancing. Jack is bummed I don't have video of it.
Too bad I didn't get video of his belly-flop or his back-flop. Off the side of the pool, Jack says no, it doesn't hurt to freefall on his back with arms outstretched into the water, but off the diving board, he says it hurts! Back-flop!

This was the first jump after a ten minute lifeguard break when everyone had to get oout the pool. If you listen closely, you can hear Jack scream, "Wahoo!" and give a double thumbs up on the way to the edge of the diving board.
(I don't know who was hyperventilating in the background noise, it wasn't me!!!)
We are so proud of our brave little "fish!"

Gma and Gpa at the Cabin 7-24-09

Grandma and Jack on the swing, listening to the birds
Grandpa taught Jack how to give moose ears
We ate sundaes made with homemade chocolate syrup at Eagle's store
Eagle's store
1-2-3 swing! We love Jack's half-turn! We had no idea he turns in the air! He turns so fast and lands so well on his feet, we only learned he does it when we caught it on film!
The intensity of this kid astounds us!! Look out Yellowstone!
Ok, goodbye Yellowstone shops, now he is wiped out!
Beautiful fun day!! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for keeping Jack at the cabin for two more nights! He loved every minute of it!

July 24th Cabin trip

We arrived at midnight Thursday night. The entire four hour drive was amazingly pleasant!Jack was so excited, he was wide awake and very sweet, taking it all in. He was up early Friday morning ready to explore! Brad was so wonderful to get up with Jack so I could sleep in. I was exhausted!! They went to the store for bacon and eggs, which Brad made for us!
After breakfast, we went for a walk up the dirt road and in the meadow.

Dad caught a frog in the little stream! Jack named it 'Mickey'. He names everything Mickey.

Dad showed Jack how to sprinkle bird seed on the front steps of the cabin for the chipmunks to eat.

Jack is holding birdseed, waiting for the chipmunks to come eat it. Later, the chipmunks did come and eat off the steps near us.
Relaxing in the swing, listening to the bird's, watching Henry's lake

Jack loved the cabin!
It was really fun for Brad to take Jack to the same cabin he has stayed in since he was Jack's age.

Cherry Hill with Lorenzens

We had alot of fun at Cherry Hill with Nicki, Maggie, Grant, Zoey and Nicki's cousins!
Jack stole my hat. He and Grant marched around together and pretended to spray me with pretend water.
The kids were so cute together! I got to hold sweet little Zoey! Jack gently tickled her chin and tried to feed her his cracker. Oops! She is an angel! It was wonderful to spend the day with them!!!

Rattlesnake Rapids

Brad took us to Lagoon last night and got to see Jack ride his favorite ride: Rattlesnake Rapids! Jack is so proud and brave and loves to get "soaked"! He was so excited to show Dad the new rides he now will ride: Odessy, the dragonfly by himself, and the dragon rollercoaster with Dad. He rode the eggdrop this last week, but not again! Jack danced and ran to every ride! His energy was refreshing!

Farmington Days

Thanks, Dad, for taking me and Mom to the Farmington Days celebration last Saturday!
I got to play games and win prizes like these funny glasses

and these billy-bob teeth
and my favorite...the bouncy house!!!!

The parade was so fun, I got to catch lots of candy they threw from the floats! One business passed out helium balloons. I carried mine all day! One float threw a teddy bear to me!!

Farmington is so cool, they offer a free pancake breakfast in the park before the parade and a free dinner and concert at night before the fireworks. We did not do those things but what a fun day!!

Oquirrh Temple Open House

It was so great to see Nicki! I got to hold Nicki's precious little Zoey for the first time!

Right to left: Grandma Jaehne, Jack, me, Zoey and Nicki, Maggie and Nicki's cousin Raquel, Nicki's sister Shelby and her husband Mike and their daughter Lauren.

They are so cute together!

What a beautiful day!!

Yea! Carrie and Mike!!

On July 5th, Carrie and Mike came to visit! It was so great to see them!!
Jack was exhausted from a busy week, fell and bonked his head on a table.
Aside from Jack's moodines, we had a great visit! Thank you, Carrie and Mike for making the trek to Farmington!!!
On Monday, Brad and I started a no-tolerance for screaming ritual. No more pleadings, no more second chances or warnings at all! When Jack starts to scream, we pound/slice one hand with the other and like a bombshell we say calmly, "Boom. No more scooby doo for the rest of the day." The first day, he lost three days of scooby doo and two days of treats as well as no Gateway mall. He really hates the thought of having priviledges taken away, even if we weren't going to do the thing anyway. Now he rarely loses any priviledge! :-)
P.S. The bump on his head was barely visible the next day!

July 4th

Brad lit sparklers and smoke bombs with Jack, who was a little afraid of getting burned.
