Jack: Mom, is today a special day?
Mom: I don't know. What would make today special?
Jack: You do everything I tell you!
I laughed so hard and he laughed with me! Then I asked Jack what he would tell me to do if it was a special day. He wanted me to stick my feet in the water as the bathtub was filling. I normally decline this request to avoid the hassle of taking off my shoes and rolling up my pant legs and possibly getting splashed by him. (Many times, if I do something I don't want to keep doing everytime, I will say I won't do this every time, this time is special.) For tonight, I said, "let's make it special!!" Kids are so easily amused!

That is so funny. I too avoid doing little things that would make my kids happy because I don't want them to think that it is okay all the time. I need to give in and let us have fun more often. Stick your feet in the bathtub, it is a special day!
Alison, you make everyday special!!
Even when you think you're not, you do!
